Creating Standards

Hotel standards are a set of criteria that establish certain rules and guidelines with the aim of improving a hotel’s guest experience and improving the service quality of the facility. These standards are similar in many countries in the hospitality industry and some standards are internationally accepted. Below are some steps for establishing hotel standards;

Research International Standards: To keep up with the latest trends in the hotel industry and learn about industry best practices, you should first research international hotel standards.

Observe Guest Requests and Feedback: Since hotels exist to serve their guests, you must communicate with them to understand their needs and expectations. By taking into account your feedback and guest comments, you can shape your hotel standards to meet the needs and expectations of your guests.

Staff Training and Guidelines: Train your staff on topics such as guest services, front desk, housekeeping, catering and security. Support training with specific guidelines. Also, standardize processes to provide consistent service among your staff.

Hotel Appearance: The appearance, aesthetics and comfort of your hotel’s interior and exterior spaces greatly affect the experience of your guests. In order for the guests visiting the hotel to be comfortable, the rooms and common areas should be cleaned regularly, furnished in accordance with current decoration trends and well lit.

Security Standards: For guest safety and comfort, measures should be taken against fire, theft and other unusual events in the hotel. Security cameras, emergency exits, fire alarm and other security systems in the hotel should be part of your hotel standards.

Food and Beverage Standards: Food and beverage services significantly affect the experience of your guests at your hotel. Improve the quality of catering services.
